Nearly 3 months after our first wedding shoot, I finally had more than 30 pictures to send to my poor bride. When I told her I'd photograph her wedding, I had no idea the amount of work it would take. It all started with getting up around 4:30 am (in itself not a rare occurrence) and driving 2 hours to the San Diego LDS temple. By the end of the day, I had drank 2 of those 5-hour energy drinks, almost vomited up a sandwich from making a photo slideshow in the car, gotten the weirdest sunburn (thank you camera blocking one half of my face...), and managed to take a couple thousand pictures. The wind was wicked terrible and the sun cast the most unphotogenic shadows on everyone's face. The weather was seriously a photographer's nightmare! I felt so bad for Maria because her hair just would not stay in place! Note to self: bring extra extra EXTRA hold hairspray as a back-up plaster for hair prone to destruction from gusts of wind. Well, lucky for me, God blessed mankind with photoshop (hearing angels sing right now!). My general rule is "Don't photoshop people to look like they don't usually look like." I think that's just plain unethical (not that it isn't super FUN to make morning me look like a supermodel with a few swift clicks!). Anyway, I of course didn't change the way Maria looked because she is Gorgeous! She has such beautiful eyes! It was nice, though, to calm down the windy hair that we so eloquently captured in some of the pics. We also forgot to bring extra make-up to reapply when we were at our other photo locations. Note to self #2: make sure bride brings back-up make up. And extra water. And bobby pins. And sunglasses. And comfy shoes. Sigh. I have a lot of errors to correct for next time (IF there is a next time...). Anyway, enough rambling. This is turning into a really long post! All in all, I had a BLAST! I was soooo exhausted and feel so bad that my school and work madness has interfered in sweet Maria getting her wedding pictures. Thanks Maria and Brett for sharing your special day! I hope we were able to capture how beautiful you looked that day!!!
