Shooting to Kill...

(Ricky and I in front of one of our "enemies")

...paper targets that is. Last weekend 3 generations of Rowley men (and myself) went to Las Vegas' premier shooting range with one goal...kill the enemy! We came armed with a 22 caliber handgun and rented a 9mm at the range. I was all ready to go until I walked in there. I have to say, I started to chicken out when I heard how loud it was...even from the other side of the protective/sound blocking glass. Regardless, Ricky wouldn't let me turn back so we put on our goofy yellow goggles and big ear protectors.

When we got inside the range, I made Ricky shoot first because I was scared! Haha. That was probably a bad idea because when he shot that 9mm gun, the air displacement was so strong it felt like a hammer smacking my chest (ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I wasn't expecting it). That kind of freaked me out more. Sadly, I had to start with the pansy 22 caliber. I have to say though, I am a fabulous shot! Ricky's grandpa is really amazing and I want to be just like him when I grow up!

(kind of hard to tell, but Grandpa was aiming for the head...he's good huh?)

It was really fun. I can't wait to try some other guns sometime. For your viewing pleasure (and my slight embarassment), I have added a video of me shooting the "cop gun." This thing was really hard for me to aim at the beginning because of the kick back. I think this video was taken early on in my "shooting experience" that day. It's pretty funny! Enjoy!
